knock sensor

Where is the knock sensor located on a 2002 chevy silverado with a 6.0 engine. I looked everywhere that I was told before and its not there, but there is one somewhere.

Your engine has two of them and both are under the intake manifold.

knock sensor

I was told that also, the intake is not aluminum or cast, it is made out of some kind of plastic and I was told they do not mount them there, If its under the intake, do I have to pull the intake off or is it mounted on the block. Thanks

Remove the intake and you will see two rubber grommets that have wires going through them. Under the grommets you will find knock sensors. Sorry to say yes the intake has to come off.
