Kobalt Paint Gun, Yay or Nay?

I was rummaging through Lowes the other day and spotted a pretty nice HVLP paint of the Kobalt brand. Does anyone know how well one of these perform? It looks pretty sturdy. Runs at 60psi and 8.4CFM.

It was $59.95. They make a smaller version of the same gun for detailing as well, $39.99 for it.

Well I guess no one has used this particular gun yet, I suppose I'll give it a try here in a few weeks. Kobalt's generally a good brand so it should be atleast mediocre.

Pretty sure its Ingersol Rand. Lowes used to carry all IR air tools and guns, now it looks like they are Kobalt brand. Maybe its just relabled IR? I bought a Kobalt die grinder the other day.Not bad for $25.

I bought one, thought it would be ok for primer. I used it once and threw it away.

How 'bout "WHY" instead of yay or nay
That Kobalt gun appeares to be identical to the HF 43430 Purple gun - occasionally on sale as low as $20. It's a mega air hog !!!

Get an Astro for about the same $$, or a Sharpe Finex for $20 more or a DevilbissFinishline 3 for $40 more.

there are two full size kobalt guns at lowes one hvlp that uses 29 psi the other is conventional and i think uses 50 - 60 psi . I got both for Christmas but haven't had a chance to use them. they do look like good quality cheap guns . hth.
