Kudos gm!

So today, here in San Antonio, We have had the first ice storm and snowfall in decades. Made me a bit home sick of the pacific north west

Turns out the the AWD astrovan with front and rear limited slips could be the best urban Ice vehicle I have ever encountered. After dropping off the wife at work I grabbed my tow strap and spent the better part of the morning helping peeps by towing their trucks, and cars up the icy hills. Its a nice feeling to be able to help out

Just wanted to give a shout out to GM, They engineered one hell of a little cargo van

Took me almost an hour to get to work today.
Literally watched 3 people spin out and off the road on
hiway 281 between 410 and 1604 on the south end.
Freeways closed----people creeping along at 10mph.

Drove me nuts----I grew up in Idaho, this was sissy
stuff today.

On another note----since moving to Texas, I've really
had no NEED for a 4x4 pick-up. Both of my primary cars
are 2wd pick-ups (and she has a van).

2wd pick-ups are all but totally useless on roads like we had today ,
And that light little fat tired Ranger of mine just wanted to skate
all the way into town.

My commute really was not all that bad----I live south of town
and work at I-10 and 410 on the east side----not a lot of traffic.

We really got hammered in North Texas with snow and ice. Had to laught at the guys with older 4 wheel drive trucks spinning off the roads and over passes. What really chaps me is when I'm trying to be real careful on the ice and some jerk gets right on your butt like it's IH75 rush hour.
