L29 with mercruiser cam?
Hi, I was hoping to hear feedback from anyone that has a mercruiser takeout cam in the L29 with stock springs and valve trian. Both cams have .483 lift @ .050 the new one has more duration 224 vs. 209. It will be used in a rv with a dual plain manifold, 750 cfm carb and headers. Thanks

I have the exact same set up in my 2WD TRUCK. Great streetable cam with a nice sound. Pulls about 15-16 vacuum at idle (800 rpm). Will rev to 6,000 before float occurs, and even then, the engine still wants more. 0-60 in my 4,500 lbs truck (3.73 rear) is 4.91 seconds when the tires hook up. 13.41 mpg @ 70 mph with engine a little over 3,000 rpm on the highway. So figure around 400 hp, and a lot more torque. I think you will like the $35 you spend on the takeout cam.
