I just seen many ops for 75 and was told this engine came out of a vette.It was my first post and had a hard time naving through sight.I thank you for your first post on my first thread and my reply should have been so now that i know its a 350 chevy 1975 i was woundering was this a L48 or poss ZQ3.It prob dont make a diff but if it did how would i tell. Your '75 engine- even if an optional "high performance" engine- will have much the same- if not identical- internal parts as a base 350 SBC engine from the same years. The cam and possibly cylinder heads and intake
may be different, and the performance engines mostly had 4-bolt mains, but for the most part the engines were much the same regardless of HP/TQ (large chamber "smog" heads, hydraulic cams, cast pistons and crank).
The sad truth is the early smog era engines were weak, power-wise, from the factory. But once rebuilt to performance specs, they're as good as any 2-piece rear main seal type engine.
