L48 or not

Engine #3970010////15b474835////So i know this is a 350 chevy 1975 but how do i find out if its a L48 or ZQ3 or something else.

Look on the passengers side front on the deck and get the suffix code then post it here. It will look something like this example

Your right colbalt my mistake and it prob dont make a diff about L48 yada yada.
I just seen many ops for 75 and was told this engine came out of a vette.It was my first post and had a hard time naving through sight.I thank you for your first post on my first thread and my reply should have been so now that i know its a 350 chevy 1975 i was woundering was this a L48 or poss ZQ3.It prob dont make a diff but if it did how would i tell. THANKS again

Thanks DoubleVision 15b474835 as you prob seen this is the remix to another post.I have been told 1=chevy 5= 1975 b=balt plant but after reading up on the first gen chevy 350 1975 give poss for the ZQ3 or L48 and so on. 3970010 block was used alot told this came out of a vette?????THANKS

Your '75 engine- even if an optional "high performance" engine- will have much the same- if not identical- internal parts as a base 350 SBC engine from the same years. The cam and possibly cylinder heads and intake may be different, and the performance engines mostly had 4-bolt mains, but for the most part the engines were much the same regardless of HP/TQ (large chamber "smog" heads, hydraulic cams, cast pistons and crank).

The sad truth is the early smog era engines were weak, power-wise, from the factory. But once rebuilt to performance specs, they're as good as any 2-piece rear main seal type engine.
