ladder bars to get more rake

i have 76 gmc sprint sp (el camino ss) and am wanting to get a better stance to it. i have air shocks in the back but they don't completely do the trick. i think i read somewhere that ladder bars would raise the back end, is this true? or could i cut or heat the front springs to lower the front to acheive a better look? how much would ladder bars raise the back if they do raise it? thanks for any help

Ladder gars will not raise the rear. Your best bet is to get heavier springs for the back.

Heating or cutting the front springs is not advisable. Dropped spindles is the right way to do it.
