Ladies And Gentlemen The New Dodge GTX Hemi...Wait What?

Dodge has managed to ruin some more heritage, well actually it would be Plymouth's. Check the link out. Dare I say this is almost as bad as when they through R/T badges on a Neon? You can't tell from the pictures but the end of the decal on the bed says GTX on top and HEMI underneath it, our local dealership has had three of them sitting out from for the last 2 months.

Here it is http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...y=31831ananged

That is one impressive engine compartment (NOT!!!!).

And Chrysler, even with their 150hp "300s" and the others fiascoes you mentioned doesn't hold a candle to Ford for screwing up car marques. Ford is hands down champ. Look at the T-bird, Mustang-MII (although they have recovered a little there), Comet, Cougar, Continental and more I have probably forgotten.

HEMI commercials are more 'funny' than they are 'exciting' to me. The funny part is, they were going for 'exciting'.

Just yesterday I saw a brand new bright yellow dodge pickup pull up next to me. Of course it had a HEMI badge on it. But it also had the old emblem of the superbee on it lettered "RUMBLE BEE".

Talk about LAME!!!!!!! Yea, I'll grab life by the horns. I'll make sure to hold the head still while I sneak under and give it a kick in the balls too.

Serisouly though guys, when did Giligan get hired into Dodge's Marketing Dept.?

It's called...."Living in your past"

Generally means that you don't have much of a future.
Hope they don't rattle like the past ones.......

Of course, I live in the past too.......so, down with all you young wippersnappers.........Wheres my cane?

Ah poo Poncho. Fact of the matter is, I like 'your' past better than I like mine. Course, your generation's future always was a bit brighter than mine. I gotta wonder if one day my kids will forget to wear their radiation suit to go outside and play radioactive hide and seek.

I think the planet is going to the dumps in a hurry. But that doesn't give Dodge the right to make it any uglier than it already is.

All in good fun.

You guys can say what you want about Dodge's PR campaign but all I can say is that my Dodge Hemi Quad Cab 4x4 is hand over fist faster than our 350 2WD Suburban ever was and gets almost as good gas mileage. I have yet to find a stock small block powered 4x4 that is faster. Big blocks are another story.

When I win the lotto I'm gonna pick up an SRT-10 as a stable mate. Now THERE"S a factory performance truck!

Not saying that Chrysler shouldn't build performance vehicles, just saying that they could get some new terminology (names)

GM always did go for the more mundane. It's probably safer and better for business. Chrysler has emphasized the performance aspect recently. In the late 70s, they didn't know what direction to go in.

They each have their own priorities.

Not saying that GM can't do "Hi-performance"....it's been proven that they can when they want to. It just seems that the head honchos at GM fight them all the way on it. Look at the GM ban on racing in the early 60s. The performance guys had to sneak around behind their backs to get the GTO done.

That GTX truck is gorgeous. I think the new Rams are awesome when done up like that.
As for the "GTX" name being tarnished, I think you guys are on CRACK if you don't remember the Eagle "GTX".

THAT car was a slap in the face to a nametag, the new Ram is an awesome looking truck.
I agree it shouldn't be called a "GTX" though, but look at the names the other brands have destroyed. It's a pattern with domestic car builders?

Those SRT-10 Rams are unbelievably AWESOME, but the pricetag makes it a "Viper GTS" type of dream for me. It'll never be a reality...?
*tears*

I like my R/T. It's also quicker than most of it's GM/Ford counterparts in it's class. Chrysler is going to cash in on the SRT nametag with the SRT-6 (crossfire). SRT-4's are nothing to shake a stick at either. My buddies 04 with just a custom 3 in. exhaust pulls high 12's. Sounds like a modern muscle car to me. Then again it has never once been referred to as, or badged as a neon.
