Last night my buddy lost his best friend.

I felt so bad for my buddy last night, he watched his 57 Chevy leave on a trailer, a car he had owned since he was 16, in 1976.

He literally lived in this car for a while back when his mom died, this car was him, he even has a tattoo of it.

He has lost his house and living with me, we pulled the thing out of a storage unit just four or so days away from lien! That along with ALL his belongings, we are talking his WHOLE house full of stuff!

But all that is water under the bridge, we have been selling things a little at a time (this has been about a four month long trek) and the 57 was the biggie. It was a nice car, super solid, candy apple paint, pearl top, spinner caps, nice car. But we got some good bucks for it and hopefully it will help him move on and get back on his feet.

But honestly, that car meant the world to him, he rubbed and patted it as he left it on the trailer and walked away. I know how he feels, I have had my truck even longer, they may just be a material thing, but darn it, they mean a lot to use sometimes.

It's stories like these and my past experiences that solidify my thought that when I finish my T Bucket, I will NEVER sell it. I really hope your friend gets things going positive soon. I really do.

And your right, they do mean a lot to us. More than we care to admit a lot of times.

I was born in '57 so don't think I don't know what this car looks like!!

Some of my high school buddies and later rod builder friends did incredible things with the late 50's chevy's. Man I hate when this stuff happens........

After my divorce and ensuing $$ problems, I sold one of the finest '66 t'birds to ever grace the highways. I sat in the garage with my head down for some time. Though I had not owned that car for as long as your friend, it was "THE RIDE".

He's lost a true friend.........all my kids know how attached I have been to my rides. My daughter called yesterday from a car show to ask me the details of my '67 Toronado. So sweet.........4k on paint and the 425 engine. The good news here was that the buyer was taking it home to his dad as a present. It was the car his dad sold early on but really loved and talked about for years.

Maybe this '57 will be appreciated the same way. I hope your buddy can get something to replace it somehow in the future when things straighten out.

Another classic always works magic!!!!

I have not had my truck very long, but I wanted one when I was 14. It took me to 38 to finally just do it.

My truck and my home will be the last things to go, but it could happen, with my health and medical bills getting worse anyway.

At least your friend has his health (I assume). Maybe he can get back on his feet now.

Let this be a lesson for you young guns out there!
The divorce rate is ~52%.
Don't let the b*%hes take you down and ruin your life!
They think men were put on earth to serve them like they are royalty and men are peasants.
Cover your arse at all times.
