Avoid the older low spline 60's. The good stuff has 30 or 35 splines.

he said its a 29 spline so I hope that will be ok (and it will probably need to be shorted so i can get it re-splined then and I want a detroit anyways so the carier will need to be replaced too)... I'll probably convert it to disk drakes any one done this? Thanks for the info

I've actually never heard of a 29 spline Dana 60. There was a 19 spline 60 around that time. I would avoid it personally...
Detroit is sweet. I find lockers to be quite streetable and 100 percent reliable. Detroit is hella-strong too. Good choice. But I would hold out for at least a 30 spline unit. |
