Let's say a guy buys himself a 98 Camaro with 3.8 six cylinder and 5 speed manual. Will a 350 V-8 bolt up to the six cylinders bell housing or would you have to change everything out.
Thanks
John I realize they are 2 completely different engines, but take for instance a 67 chevy nova with a straight six. You could pull it out and bolt a 327 straight to the bell housing and you were good to go. Just didn't know if they kept making everything compatable on these late model cars.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure the 3.8 is a 90 degree v6 like the 4.3. The 60 degree v6s were the 2.8, 3.1, 3.3, 3.4 and whatever else there was. Anyone else out there know for sure???
the late model 3.8 is a 90 degree v-6.. but has the 2.8 bellhousing bolt pattern. it will not interchange. but, there is a possibility that the bellhousing from a v-8 would work on the transmission... and then yes, it would then work. might want to check w/crosley about this more in the transmission section... he may also know if for sure it'll work, and also if the v-6 trans will hold up to the power of the v-8...
What model is the tranny? is it an auto or a standard
