Latest build: 1940 Ford with 302 power

Finally had room to get a project in the E-tek shop for a gentleman who had been waiting for quite a while for some progress on his rod. No slouch himself, he did a lot of fab work on it about 10 years back, but due to life's time crunch hasn't been able to make any headway since. About a year ago he contacted me and I liked the way he was going on it - so I juggled some stuff to get it in.

The 5.0L/302 has AC and P/S. The AC pump normally hangs out into the inner fender, so a bracket was fabbed up to locate it higher and to the centre. Another bracket is being made to relocate the tensioner.

Tons of parts to go through!

Owner has already purchased kits for power windows and locks, needs it all installed. Also, I'll be shaving the doors, fabricating a console, and seat brackets, getting the computer sorted out, wiring the interior and lights and everything....FUN!

Getting aLOT done quickly!

Mounted the computer, the e-brake and the brake pedal set up which took several iterations to get it right - for me. Set-up the trunk latch the battery cables and finished the AC bracketry....

Time for an update!

Have updated for a while - and it's going for paint soon!

Fitting front end -

Console -

Wired it all up, connecting Painless harness to Ford EFI Computer -

Made a remote trunk popper, filled out rear panel, tucked Rear Bumper -

So after the windows, power locks and seats were in, the engine turned over, the AC and gauges were all set up.... I tore it all down again -

Pulled the engine -

POR15 on the running boards -

...and it waits for paint!

And while we wait for it to get back all purple and shiny, I'll be working on my 27 Runabout Model T -

Here's the mill -

Oh ya - The 56 Chevy Stepside I did last year won 1st Place at Draggins Rod Show....here's my wife posing with it
