Leaf spring clamps or add a leaf?

Lowering my car and going with hotchkis springs in the front but am not sure what to do with the back. I was going to get some leaf springs from a pickup and swap 1 leaf with mine, or just add one from the truck leafs. But then i came across leaf spring clamps and i can't find much info on them. All people say is "the ride sucks" and i have no idea what that means. Is it stiff, or does it hop or what? I want it to be stiff so if that's what they do then to me that doesn't suck, it's what i want. Anyone have experience with these? Thanks

I've used them. Stiffens it up a bit at normal ride and acts like a cheap traction bar. And you can move them to correct torque steer.
