I have a question about leaf springs on a trailer. I know this is'nt about a car, but I know with all the experience on here, there are several people who have spent many hours working with a car trailer.
I'm changing out the floorboards on my trailer and one of the axles. When I took the leaf springs off, I noticed the bolts were no spin bolts, with the teeth near the head. The bolts were extremely old and rusty since they've been on there forever, and I ended up stripping one trying to get the nut off. My question is should'nt I be able to just replace these bolts with a standard grade 8 bolt or do I need the none slip bolts? I dont see a need for the non slip bolts, but I just wanted to make sure.
