leaking cowl vent
hey i think my cowl vent is leaking when ever i wash my car a 66 stang coupe i end up with a aahtray full of water and my floor boards also fet soaked what else could it be? any tips on how to pinpoint the problem and fix it would be extremely helpfull thanx

well the easiest way to get an idea of where the water would be coming from would be to get a buddy or someone to hold the hose over the cowl while your in the car on your back with a bright flashlight, you could also use compressed air, tape off the cowl and shoot some compressed air down in there and see if you can feel it from under the dash. if you can't find it that way the best way to fix the problem is take the dash out and go from there, because of the water leakage into the dash and floorboards disconect the battery before anything, its better to be safe than sorry, sometimes the cowl vents get stuck open with debree like leaves or dirt, look and see before you tear your ride apart, usually its the smallest things that you never think of that are causing all the big problems

that is normal for that generation of mustangs. there is actually a ford part taht they sell that goes over the cowl. U jsut put it on when it rains so it doesn;t get soaked in your car. My friend has a 67 stang and he has this cover.

You can make it so it deosnt; leak, but apparently its a big job
