leaking valve cover gasket
I hAVE A 1940 CHEVY WITH A 350 CHEVY ENGINE,THE ENGINE HAS ALUMINUM VALVE COVERS ON HER. I NOTICED THE COVERS WERE LEAKING OIL SO I TOOK THE COVERS OFF CLEAN THEM AND PUT TWO NEW STEEL CORE RUBBER GASKETS ON. THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS,LEAKING OIL ONTO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CAUSING THEM TO SMOKE, MAYBE I SHOULD CHANGE THEM TO CORK? :welcome: DAVE

If you tightened them down properly, you may have a warp in the Valve cover, put a straight edge on the gasket face to see if they are straight, if they are then I would check torque specs.
