lean spot on 1405/cant feel it/cant fix it
i have a afb 1405 set to the top hole on the acc pump and the 3rd stage rich power mode on the eddy manuals ( # 11 ) and red springs. if i hadnt dropped the kits i have id have 2 silver springs but i dont. something tells me it would really help if i had the 8 hgs but payday comes soon maybe ill go grab a spring kit. and i had to go to timed vac on the carb because it was almost un driveabe otherwise. initial timing is 12. i did a foolish thing and didnt check timing at full vac after i hooked the adv canister up. i will say its new tho, i just got it a few months ago and it works because it stops when u apply suction ( mouth test haha )
the calibration seems as okay as a mammoth truck can get performance wise, if im at part throttle putting up hill my afr is 14.7-15.5 and if i step on it a little bit harder it goes down 13.5-14.0 even harder 12.5-13.2ish and stomp on it it drops to 10 ish until then, any ideas ? |
manual
and although the first response is usually a link to the manual, i have it and the online copy, when im stumped i go on here

just checked timing/dizzy
my timing is dead nuts 12 with the dizzy unhooked.
timing is 12 with the vac adv hooked to full time vacuum and if i suck on the vacuum line the adv stoped and makes a little "thunk" sound when i let off granted, the timing advances when i nudge the throttle. if that means anything... |
looks like your secondary step on your rods may be a hair too thin. Also, put your vacuum advance on your manifold vacuum source where it belongs.
Assume this is a stock cam? If not 12 degrees may not be enough. |
