leather dye firethorn red?

I cant find firethorn red leather dye for my 77 vette seat Any one have a supplier that handles and would ship me this dye! My seats are in excellent shape but the last owner wore a wallet chain and it rubbed the color off the leather so it has a rub mark that is the leathers natural color about 10" long and 2" wide LOL !! The leather isnt even scuffed or ruffed up its as smooth as the rest of the seat so it should except the dye and look good when completed. I work with leather Horse tack and I build saddles from the trees up so I know Dyes and application on leather. Or should I give up looking and just dye both seats a different red or 2 tone em ? Id really apreciate any help!!

Chris

Sam: thanks for the reply I checked Sem they have vinyl dye in the firethorn but not in leather dye. I also tried Year One and Classic chevy and ETC,ETC. I tried G.M. too with the same response!! I cant use vinyl dye it will harden the leather and seal it so it cant breath and the leather will crack (its like using paint on leather)!! I was hoping some of the upholsterers on here might have some old firethorn dye still in their shops LOL I have leather dyes 40 years old that are still good like an ugly yellow saddle dye I only used once on a custom show halter!! LOL

I checked all the older auto upholstery shops around Michigan and they all responded with "we used to have it but we threw it out years ago LOL!!

Thanks again for your reply: Chris

A SEM distributor can mix leather dye to any color you want and provide it in an aerosol can. CLICK HERE You will need to call them.
