Lead Additive

anyone using led additive, what are pro's, con's
Ive got stock 906 heads on my 440 so I think theyre not hardened valve seats.

If it makes ya feel better, use it, if the heads have never had a valve job ( non hardened seats, I doubt they are ) there are arleady traces of lead in the seats from running leadded gas in the past so they are getting lubricated by the lead anyway. Really, it's a myth to need it, in normal driving conditions, you don't need it and it's not going to affect anything if you do or don't use it.

ive always read that valves would dig into heads without lead.

that is all a myth. All the lead does is lubricate the soft valve seats, if the heads have not been rebuilt, there is lead deposits built up in the valve seats, which lubricates them.

If everything is ground properly and the engine is tuned properly you will have years of trouble free driving without tearing up the heads.
