Question Leg room in early 30s Chevy & Fords?

I'm researching my next Hot Rod. I've sold my 54' Chevy and now want to get into a 29' to 44' Hot Rod / Street Rod. I want to stay under $20K.

I'm looking for those of you who have owned early 30s Chevy & Fords. How comfortable are they? I'm only about 5'-8". Would clutching and shifting gears be a real pain on a major all-day cruise? Should I stick with an auto trans? How close are your and your buddies shoulders in a car that small?

What about roadsters? Any "caught in the rain" stories? How bad is it afterwards to dry the car out after you get soaked? With the top up, how much rain gets in from the lack of side windows?

Those crankout front windows look cool. Do they leak or can you get them to seal up pretty good (wind noise and rain?)?

What is the run of the mill avg cost for a complete coupe interior? Anyone have much luck going cheap here and doing it themselves? How did it turn out (be honest)?

Mechanically, I'm pretty good and fear nothing.

Body work, not much experience at all.

Thanks

Fords 28-31 room= A'int none. less if channeled, shoulder to shoulder, toe to firewall. 32-34 not much better, 35-37 gettin there. 38-40 bout right, 41-42 then 46-48 lots of room. Chevys a bit bigger. most years.
Those tip out windshields do leak air-water, if hoodless lots of engine heat. You will get soaked in an open roadster so keep the interior leather/vinyl-hyde. drains in floor. No side curtains or fenders = read previous statement. But you have to have F U N !!!!! Just like a big kids go-kart
