Post lengthening doors in fibreglass body

does anyone have any experience in modifying a fibreglass body? i have found a very resonably priced 32 roadster body in england but the doors are stock lenght and are a bit cumbersome to get in and out of. is it possible to glass the seams together and re-cut the opening say 3 inches back lengthening the door by that same amount. i would first glass the door shut, then moove the pillar bach and glue that in and finally cut the opening.. will this work?

I'm not that well versed in fiberglass bodies, but if you send Shawn Asseln (shawn@bestbuyrods.com) an e-mail, I'm sure he can help, hes a 'glass body wizard, he makes them for a living so I'm sure you can all the information you need. Hope you get it worked out.
