Leroy's 55

I appreciate what everyone had to say about the car, I did all the work except the paint and interior, I did the paint under the hood. I have owned this car since 1967, (I was a sophmore in high-school when I bought it), before that my parents owned it, my dad was a shop foreman for a local chevrolet dealership when he ordered the car. The car was the first 55 in my hometown. I bought the car for $250.00 from my parents. It originally came with a 265 cubic inch and a powerglide and a 355 rear end. I later installed a 283 with a 3 speed out of a 1963 chevy SS owned by a friend of mine that wrecked the 63 and was going to let it go back, so I purchased his motor and transmission along with his Hurst shifter for $35.00, I kept this until I graduated in 1969 and started college at which time I installed a 327, and a muncie 4 speed along with posi out of a 64 chevy and kept this thru college. In about 1980 after being out of college several years I deceided to change the motor for a 350 cubic inch still same 4 speed and rearend, the 350 in it now is the same engine nothing too special 9 to 1 motor with a comp cam 280 grind for a nice idle and as you can see lots of chrome, same 4 speed, Hayes 11 inch clutch and pressure plate, Hooker Competition headers and Hooker mufflers, (some where along the way I had the 4 speed rebuilt), I have since had the rearend rebuilt it has 373 gears, which I dont really like but o-well, I have also added a new aliminum radiator and am now in process of rebuilding the front end and adding the 500 CPP Box and power steering and an Ididit tilt wheel, and AC is next.

Nice to have a car with a personal history - means so much more that way. Nice ride - keep up the good work!
