LIC Brand

LIC Brand paints?????? I went to my local paintshop asked for epoxy primer, and they gave me LIC Brand(made by valspar) Industrial Finishes? It is LICP Epoxy Primer. They also gave me LK40 Polyurethane Activator to use with this, which I did research on and I believe to to be the wrong activator for this primer.....Has anyone used LIC brand LICP Epoxy Primer????When I walked out I really didnt think about it when I saw the Industrial Finishes label...I am wondering did they give me all thogether the wrong stuff Please help before I paint my chevelle with this stuff....I wouldnt without more research but I did plan on it today....guess not

LIC is an industrial line sold through Valspar's autobody jobbers. It's a pretty nice product for what it is intended for. However, it was never intended for car repair or restoration work. The activator for LICP is EKP not LK40! I would take it back and tell them you want VP50 with VPC50 and reducer to go with it. VP50 is a sweet epoxy primer. Mix 4:1:1 if you want some build or 4:1:2 if you are just looking to seal.

I figured that it wasn't a auto product....imagine had I sprayed my car...the guys at Keystone Auto would be blocking my car for three days after selling me the wrong stuff. Just goes to show make sure you got what you asked for and do some research on whatever if you have any questions....Thanks
