lifting a grand wagoneer

i have a 1978 4 door jeep grand wagoneer.i have some 33 tires for it but they wont clear.someone told me that i could block the back up,and put the front axle under the springs.he said it give me 5 inches.wich would be perfect.but my prob. is id have to weld some pedistals on the front axle and the pittman arm prob. wont reach .if some one knows anything on this stuff it would help trying not to spend alot on the truck i only gave 150.00$ for it.just a mud bog truck

if your just gonna beat it, bust out the sawzall and make 'em fit lifting over 3" is when you have to start making steering adjustments and the like. if your want the lift, find a kit, be safest
