Post Lincoln Rear Disc Brakes

How do you get the calibers apart.The Puck seams to screw in or out. Wich way and how far? Thanks, John

It takes special service tools to properly overhaul the rear caliper. It is cheaper to buy exchange units rather than the tools.

If you decide to overhaul regardless, you need the proper FORD shop manual.

Or...if you are simply replacing pads, there is a special service tool that pushes in and turns the piston simultaneously to properly seat it. If you do not seat it properly, it will break the self-adjusting feature and then you will have to buy the special service tools.
