lincoln transmission harsh

better put thread here instead of engine forum ( woops ) just rebuilt the engine on my daily driver 2000 towncar and the trans at first just felt odd can`t really say what it was but just didn`t feel right ! all shifts have now got very harsh but no DTC`s have been set ! i have been told that its the pressure solonoid playing up but the previous owner says this was renewed 12 months ago ! is it likely to have gone this soon ? fluid still looks and smells new ! the other thing i have been advised is to check the internal wiring loom in the box as being push fit this can sometimes give problems ! opinions anyone ? any help would be great as its hard to get advise this side of the pond

I would suggest a scan of the vehicle with a quality scanner as a starting point. A scanner that reads the data stream as the vehicle drives.
