Align hone should be done VS line boring as there are not to many line boring machines that cam line bore all 5 journals in one set up.

I get 185.00 to line hone.

My machine will do 48" no reset.. AMC Denmark.

One advantage of linebore is aftermkt caps are easier to do. You can make the main bore come out anywhere you want it..

Performance engines should be finished with an align hone, We line bore when installing new caps and all the shops I deal with want a line hone finish. When line boring nothing should come out of the block side!!!!!

I agree. I also offer Sunnen line honing. The question was "Line Boring".

In the real world, line boring can save a very expensive or un obtainable block. Thats why there are undersize timing sets available for most applications..

We are set up to blue print bore cam tunnels and from what I have seen GM cam tunnels are all over the place.

Gm line bores the cam tunnel with the bearings in place to correct their screw ups, Try to by a GM OEM block with out cam bearings.

Worst GM cam tunnel I have ever was was out .016

We have a Sunnen line hone set up at each shop!
