line lock activation switch location

Where do you all have your line lock activation button located??? Shifter, Loose under seat, Heck where ever? Please give me a clue where is the most common place to have it be the handiest for a casual racer. And please some tips on exactly how to use it at the track. Thanks alot guys.

My line lock button is on top of the shiftknob.
As far as technique, I depress the brake pedal as hard as I can, and activate the line lock. Give it gas until you are at desired launch RPM, and hit the button.
Good Luck,

Line lock should be located on the shifter. An optional knob with button can be purchased.

It is used in the burn out box, not to launch your car, that's what a tranny brake is for. I have 4" wide tires on the front and 11" slicks on the rear. If I used my linelock to launch. I would push myself right through the lights.

The line lock is installed on the front brake lines. You get in the burn out box and use the linelock to lock up the front brakes. It saves your rear brakes from doing brake stands.

As you are going to use it OCCASIONALLY, I suggest you put an arming switch in series with it. That is a switch under the dash, in the console or glove box. That way the line lock ONLY operates when you really need it.

The button should be on the shifter easily operated by your thumb or index finger.

Before trans-brakes and skinny tires, most would push hard on the brake pedal, push the button and then load the converter and chassis some. Running a street car, you should be able to do it this way.

IF you use skinny tires and wide slicks, a trans brake is the ONLY way to launch. Unless you have a stick.
