lines are off on ss hood for 68 chevelle

I switched out the regular hood on my 68 for an SS hood. Picked up the "69" hinges to swap out this hood but the drivers side rear is raised about 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch and the front in the middle is raised about the same! I have a really hard time closing the hood, you have to slam it and even after loosening the spring a bit it is really tight and doesnt line up with the rest of the front. Do I need "69" springs for those hinges? The salesman said if my springs from the "68" were in good shape I could swap them out but some guy told me I need "69" springs.

it just needs to be adjusted....take the latch/or striker out first...lower the rear hinge and adjust the hood so its sitting on the rubber adjusters...when its sitting where you want it put the latch/or striker back in and adjust that
