a little dampner help please!!!

Hey guys,
So I pressed my new pro street dampner onto my crank the other day and it went on I think all the way.. however I went to put the pulleys on and they all line up good but my dampner bolt only threads in like 3 maybe four turns and it's already tight against the pulley. To me it seems the bolt should go alot further into the crank. I checked the bolt I have and it's the right one.. but it definitely seems to shot.. any input would be awesome

Is the hub thicker than the original damper? If so, you may need a longer bolt.

You know I'm not sure but I'm going to find out. Thanks I really appreciate your help.
Another question I haven't explored the problem yet for obvious things . But I tried turning the motor over by grabbing the damper and there is no spark plugs in it yet and not hooked to tranny either. Turned over fine before I set into the truck. Might be something stupid but while on topic of damper problems there is nothing that the damper could be doing is there

Does it turn a little then stop hard or not at all? Could be your crank pulley bolts are long, hitting the timing cover on the back side.
