little eddy-1950 chev truck

Hi! My truck is a 1950 Chevy shortbox which comes to me with a interesting history and story how it ended up in my garage.
About 2 years ago I was driving along a road nearby some salvage yards, out of the corner of my eye I spotted the roof of an old truck. Thought it would be a good thing to check out after work. After work I went to the yard and asked the owner if it would be ok to take a look at the old truck. Because it was behind several other old vehicles, I could get a good look at it. Once I finally got around the other vehicles, imagine my surprise when I recognized it as the same truck my brother owned about 13 years earlier. This evident by the hood I had flamed and given to him as a birthday present.
Immediately, I turned around and went back to the salvage office to inquire as to the price. The owner was somewhat surprised when I had returned so quickly and wanted to buy the truck. A deal was struck which included towing the old truck home for me. The driver who towed it home for me was pretty tickled by the truck and only charged $30 to tow and place it right inside my garage.
Once I got it in my garage it was time to do a little research on the truck. So first thing to do is to go back to my brother and see what he could tell me about it. He told me that he bought it from the original owner who used to have a fly-in service. Back in the early 1950's he would pick people up in town and fly them to remote locations for trapping or fishing. Two of the people he used to pick up on a very regular basis was my grandfather and father who were building a fly-in fishing lodge.
This really cemented my interest in redoing the old truck. Plans are to keep the body pretty much stock, but will be upgraded to more current suspension and drivetrain etc. I have reseached many different options for suspension, but am always interested in hearing from others on their experiences with the conversions.
I have been involved in the cars for many years, this will be my first streetrod(built mostly 60's cars before), and I would like to do it well informed as possible.
Currently trying to decide which way to go for suspension, I seem to be more or less settled on the mustang II front end. Have seen others who have used s-10 frames, volare front ends, and clips. Any one who would have information on the alternatives, I would like to hear from.
