A little market research

Hello fellow Hotrodders.

I am trying to do a little market research for a possible business venture, and would like some feedback from my target audience, You. A couple of people and myself are contemplating starting up an On-line race parts business tailored more to the open track and road race end of the motorsports spectrum. We have picked this niche because we feel that the Street / Drag race niches have fairly sufficient resources for parts, while the road race and open track do not. What do you think about this? Are we off on this conclusion, or is there a need for something like this? And .. What parts do you feel are hard to find in this niche? How comfortable would you be buying from a new, smaller company? What would it take to make buyers more comfortable buying from 'The new Guy'?

I thank you for your time.

I was in Phoenix for the Copper Classic this spring, pitting for a friend. There was a parts truck, everything from nuts and bolts to parts, he did a bang-up business. I think to make this work you'll have to go to races along with having your online business. Dan
