Vortec 4200 in '52 Chevy 3600?

I've done a lot of reading on the Vortec 4200 and was wondering how much of a bear it would be to drop one of these in my 52 3/4 ton. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Probably not much harder than using a "V" engine, either a 6 or 8. The inline will fit into the engine bay of your truck, that's certain.

But the question arises (for me, anyway) of why to go through the trouble to install an inline 6 when for about the same time, labor and money, you could bolt in more power.

I know it sounds wierd but I want to keep the "nostalgia" of the truck but also want a fun driver. I have been looking at all types of inline 6's and then ran into the 4200. I like the idea of keeping the inline 6 and I've never seen this done before so it would be different. I'm not looking for a drag truck, just a driver with decent power. It just seems to me like a great compromise. It has the power of a 4.8 V8 with better torque yet it's an inline 6. I honestly think, if I do this, it will be pretty surprising when I tell people it has an I6 and then they see it move like it hopefully will.

Well now I have a dilemma. After 3 mos of looking I finally found someone selling a 1965 292 L6. That would be a much easier swap and just as fun. Now I don't know what to do lol. I think I may go with the cheaper one so I can put more money towards the suspension and gearing. This project changed almost every day it seems lol.
