You know John, I learned today on Facebook that they are still using it! Which brings up other thoughts as well, yesterday it carried a love one now it's a cartoon at car show?

But on the same respect, one of the people who commented had a dear friend who was a car enthusiast and they felt so good when that rumbly exhaust hearse drove off with him inside. I can dig that too, it's just a car for goodness sakes. But I can see the other side too, the outraged and made over making light of this horrific event in some people's lives. Not all loved ones leave like my parents did in their eighties after a long life. Some trips to the funeral home are over devastating deaths that destroy families. So I am as I said very mixed.

Brian

Last ride

I can see how you feel, a lot of memorys. When I go I can't think of a better last ride than in a hot rod. Ive been thinking as I get older to make some instructions for something like that, maybe a club members truck?

Wanted to post a couple pictures of the show at Gamble Rd Baptist Church. 2 of my good friends go there so it would have been a shame not to have been able to go.

Falcons anyone?

James County went bankrupt in 1921 and merged with Hamilton County. It is puzzling to understand how they could have had a 1947 Dodge police car. The owner, Hap Chastain lives a couple of blocks from the old James County court house. His Dodge generated lots of conversation about local history. Pretty cool.

Pic for John... this car never moved from this spot for 3 days... I had hoped to see it at the show in town and get more pics.

Few for Brian.

Shoot. I had my camera and never used it. How bad is that. Maybe I will do better at the Sonic tonight. Hopefully there will be some interesting stuff there.

Had a good time at the Sonic. Lots of the old gang and their cars but that is good. Those are the guys you enjoy talking to.

I believe these two trucks are cousins.

They tell me the guy that owns this thing is a really good fella. Personally I am not to sure.

You can't go wrong with red 34 coupe.

The liars club was out in full force too.

This was the coolest thing of all. When is the last time you saw a forty-ford standard that still has only one tail light, painted headlight doors and one exterior locking door handle. They told me all they had to do to get it running was change the distributor. What a cool piece of history.

Anyway, it was a good night all the way around and perfect convertible weather.

What a cool night we had today. Not only did we have a good turn out at the Sonic but the weather was so perfect Barb and I left just a little early so we could take the long way home and enjoy the top down.

We cruised through the state park close to home and saw a whole bunch of dear including a couple of bucks.

Just a really good night.

John

I don't know what this started out as but damn it is interesting.

Brian et al,
I'm not trying to start anything, and I do understand how you would have mixed feelings about the "Hot Rod Hearse", especially since you have a personnel connection to it. But don't you think that this Caddy might also have been a hearse at one time?
Alan
