hi,if you have the original owners manual, theres a page that tells you how to do it. most original owners put the 4 # code into the manual. if you dont have the manual, try the numbers 0000. if it dont work,go to the dealer.

FOLLOW THIS LINK...perhaps this guy can help

http://www.impalasuperstore.com/NAIS...dnew.asp?id=19

or here

TO OBTAIN RADIO DISPLAY BACKUP CODE

1. Press and hold presets 2 and 3 for 6 seconds until the first 3 digits of the display code are displayed. "123"
2. Write the numbers down. "123"
3. Press the AM-FM button. The next 3 digits of the code are displayed. "456"
4. Write the numbers down. "456"

If the display reads "INOP" the radio must be powered up for 1 hour before the backup code can be displayed.
You now have a scrambled backup code, you must call your local GM dealer to get the unlock code
TO UNLOCK RADIO

1. Press the HR (hours) button "000"
2. Set the first two digits (0-19) of the code with the HR button. "1200"
3. Set the next two digits (0-99) of the code with the MIN (minutes) button. "1234"
4. Press the AM-FM button to enter the code.
Radio is unlocked and the clock is displayed. "1:00"
