locker or messed up diff??

I got a rear end out of another car, it's a ford 9" rear end. The guy said it has 33spline axles, and is was setup with a spool. But when I was pushing my car around my driveway, the tires on the inside wouldnt bounce around like the axles were locked, instead the car would make a clicking noise and roll fine, a little harder to push to fine. When I push the car straight, you cant hear any noise at all, but when the wheel is turned the clicking comes back. It sounds to me I have a locker, but I didnt think they made 33 spline lockers, maybe they do? Maybe he was just wrong about the axles and they are 31 spline and it does have a locker. Any thoughts?

30 minutes to pull the axles and drop the chunk to inspect all including axle bearings...$4? for a new gasket and $7? for new gear lube to put it back together and have peace of mind

a "used" locker/posi/spooled rear is likely a much "abused" rear.....

Yeah I know, I'm not with the car to be able to do that though. Next time I'll be around it'll be **** cold outside. Just trying to get some insight before spring when I'll be switching out the housings and the yoke.

There are 35 spline lockers but I dont think there are any 33. If it is a full aluminum spool it might be stripped on one side. Your description sounds like a Detroit locker.

It sure does. There are 28, 31 and 35 spline axles but I've never heard of 33s.

The axle is not stripped, when it was off the car I couldnt roll the rear end anywhere. There were slicks on the rear end and I couldnt roll it, I had to lift up one end and move to in order to turn it. So it's definitely not stripped, and it's not a spool, could it possible be a messed up posi? I doubt it could be a very tight posi because I could have been able to move it around when it was off the car. So in my eyes it can only be a locker and I was told the wrong splines. Anyone else agree?
