Is This a "Locking" or "Non-Locking" Posi?

GM 7.5" 10 Bolt 28 Spline 3 Series EATON Posi Unit.

Unit was in a 2002 S-10 Blazer.

"They call it a limited slip. It will release on turns where only one gets the power and then on straight it will use both wheels."

I want to put this (hopefully it is a non-locking) in a 1980 Monte Carlo donor diffy (upgrading to 28 spline axles, of course) with 3.42 gears - strictly as a street cruiser.

Thanx in advance for your help!!

its a clutch type posi, which would be a non-locking

will you have to buy those 28 spline upgrade axles?

whats it going into?
how much power is it going to have going to it?

80 Monte 7.5" came with 26-spline.
28-Spline 8.5" Axles from a 84-87 Buick GN/T-Type or Olds HO/442 will fit.

If its an Eaton, then its a GovLock.
It will have 2 shafts with wieghts that swing out based on RPM.

Its an OK unit for street use but does not tolerate abuse.

The 28 spline axle in a 8.5 axle has a different button thickness than a 28 spline 7.5. You can grind the axle down to the same dimension as your 26 spline axles.
