truth be i havent had time to try any of the suggestions above except try random keys. I have a bunch but none of them fit the bill. Going through the back seat ( I may have no choice) will be a pain in the ***** because i am thinkin i filled the trunk up with all of the trim panels and odds and ends from the car, or at least i am hoping i did. but i was 14 when i took everything off which i am regretting now.

Good news.. I got in and the trunk is full of parts. That makes me smile a bit. I ended up beating a chisle into the lock and turning it with a wrench until the latch released.thank you all for your suggestions.
