great numbers I have a 400 i'm going to put in my 69 camaro. I was just poking around on the web looking for info on the 400 and found you guys talking about that same 400. i was looking for a combination of parts that would get me right around those numbers.

I just redid the engine with a bigger cam and AFR 195 Competition Eliminator heads and made 540 hp and 525 tq. Check out the dyno sheet and cam card. It's been a while since I've been on this board>Well I guess the files are too big to post.

This is a very interesting and informative thread. I am building a 383 right now and taking muchof this information to heart. Even buying some of the same parts. Thanks!

This is an old thread Its now making about 560-570hp with a tunnel ram, AFR 195 Competition Eliminator heads and Lunati 60133 hyd roller cam and EZ EFI fuel injection. I also have a 383 with the Sportsman ll heads that I had on the 406 but ported by myself, a 232/242 hyd roller cam and a RPM Air Gap with EZ EFI that makes 460 HP and 470 tq.
