The long and the short of it.
I think I know the answer but I am going to ask it anyway, just to be sure. Is there a difference between the altenator brackets for a chevy V8 with a long and short waterpump.

You know it! Alternator is the same so the long water pump bracket has to place the alternator closer to the radiator.
