longbed to shortbed conversion?

hello everyone i just picked up a 1965 ford f-100 i can not seem to find a shortbed. my plan is to ctu out 17 inches off the front and 7 inches off the back does this sound like a good idea? thanks!!!!!!!!

For starters, this is the engine forum. You need to post this question in the body-exterior forum.

Are you talking about cutting the bed, frame or both? Cutting and shortening the frame on Chevy C10s is not uncommon so I'm you could do the same on an F100. No input on cutting and shortening a bed though. All I know is that I'm not skilled enough to try that on my own.

I thought you had a 66 ford f100?
