Hey all... I've been using this site as a resource for a pretty good while now - the information I've learned here has guided me through my first two motor projects. Anywho, I guess when you go to a site every couple days and your wife is constantly accusing you of "lurking" you really ought to register. So here I am. I'd also like to say thanks to all the old posters who've helped me so much already.

I know my life would have been a mess without her, but man I would have had some nice cars.

Well, you may remember a few years ago there was a "junkyard jewel" series in hotrod magazine. So with that a buddy and I pulled a 350 shortblock from the local wrecking yard. In the snow. In a wheelbarrow. So that cost $72. Then I came up with a set of $200 462 castings. The whole sloppy mess lasted a little over two weeks of vicious abuse in a '70 stepside. Fast forward two years and that 350 has been reincarnated as a 383 and is currently wedged in a 91 Camaro.
