look what was found under 4l60e valve body

can anyone tell me what this is? I took the valvebody off of a 1997-96 4l60e and under the plate on the trans side was this thing in one of the worm valleys. it looks like a little rivet. maybe supposed to be pressed into the case somewhere. I don't think it was hurting anything where it was at but im sure it needs to be put back where it goes. thanks

It's a penny, can't make out the year but definitely a penny.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

gearheadslife, so that probably means that I need a new converter right? I would say that the p1870 code from worn valvebody is what damaged the converter. ive fixed the valvebody.

Although the converter has rivets inside of it on the drive hub... that part shown is not from the OEM transmission or converter
