When I used to package parts for a Bone yard .
I would box them with the UPS guy in mind.

after stuffing it GOODNTIGHT with packaging stuffins I would throw it like a Frisbee .

If it did not break then it was good to go.

They don't care thats what the Insurance is for.

I once watched a UPS guy carry red medical sample boxes to his truck marked "Fragile" stacked 6 high, when he dropped 4 of them he freaked out and threw the two in his hands into the truck, he turned around and then one by one kicked the four on the ground to his truck. Once at the rear of the the truck he threw each one full force into the back.

This was in front of a hospital!

Yikes! looks like they ran it over then tried to fluff it back up lol. Seems like a few years ago around Christmas they had a under cover video of people loading a private plane with Express mail.... Every single package was KICKED into the plane

That is exactly how I have looked at packages for years. I say if you can't throw it off the roof of your house into the driveway, it isn't packaged well enough!

I have shipped over a thousand items sold on ebay and have never had an item damaged!

I shipped a vintage porcelin piece that would have blown you guys away, it was a 32 Ford roadster! Anyway this thing looked kinda like a planter, about 10 inches long. I shipped it to Sweden as I remember. The guy emailed me telling me it had a chip in it! But he couldn't find the chip in the box. I paid to have it fixed (about 50 bucks but had gotten 200 or something for it) and went on with life. Then about six months later I found this little chip next to my desk! I had chipped it after I took pictures and put it on ebay! DAMN IT. But at least I still have a clean record on nothing ever getting damaged.

By the way, that porcelin was boxed in bubble wrap with about two inches around it. That box was then put into another box with two inches of bubble wrap around it! I could have thrown it off a three story buildings roof.

Brian

Were the items damaged or not? If the items werent damage does it really matter that the box was crunched?

I did not ask if the parts were damaged but thats not the point. When you are the shipper you should be careful to deliver it as you would like to receive it.

It probably wasn't the driver/delivery man. It was probably one of the package sorters in one of the UPS depots.

People have no pride in their jobs anymore.

Were the parts damaged?
