lookin to buy or build a rat rod

I wanna build or buy a rat rod. I would like to build a rat out of a '54 Chevy 2 door. A slead, if ya know what I mean. I live in Phoenix...need to know where to start either buying or building a rat.

If you're just going to build a rat rod, why start with a pristine car? Just get a rusty piece of crap and go with it. Rat-rodders seem to take pride in their rust.
