lookin for interior ideas

hey guys, ive read all the posts on installing bucket seats, but none of them really help me. has anyone ever put buckets in a 81-87 chevy truck? mines a 86, and i want a clean, bare minimal interior with bucket seats, any suggestions?(unique and unusual would be cool too!)

I dont know what exactly you are asking for, but the job will differ depending on the seats you use. For example, if you choose a Honda seat to put in your truck, the brackets you will have to fabricate to make them fit will be totally different than if you use seats out of a Lincoln. You will not find step by step instructions on installing seats in that truck, or any vehicle for that matter, every vehicle and every seat will be a different install. And about what seats will fit, theres no way to answer that, go to a junkyard with a tape measure and start measuring seats you like.

I have plenty of good ideas, but ill keep them to myself, thats how i make a living. But seriously, look at pictures, go to shows, look at some dashes and design your own. Its not very original if someone else designs it for you.

Consoles you can go several directions.

Stained wood. We have stained wood consoles in the cars at the SO to hold the radio and light controls.

Upholstered wood or fiber board.

Simple metal console.

Fiberglass.

Lots of stuff I can think, some of doesn't suck at least as an idea. But with my extensive skills I could probably make them suck. You just have to pick something you can do.

Good thing to do is download any and every pic that catches your eye to a folder. Then you can go back and decide what direction you want to go. Pics are free and the ideas that go wiith them are priceless. Also Joseph...do you have a digital camera to snap some pics of your truck and show it?

There are companies on the internet that do make bucket seats for trucks that come with brackets made for your truck. I to have a 86' c10 truck and just finished last month putting in new seats. With the bracket they came with, they just bolted right in, they also had several different styles for seats I got flames for mine I'll post a pic. heres the website that carries them.Truck accessory outlet
