looking 4 best bang for the buck up grade brake for racing

The issue I have is that I can't hold the car at the line for more than 2500 rpms. I have a 1981 camaro with stock disc brakes and drum brakes in rear. Have a stock GM style brake cylinder with no booster cause of BBC won't let it fit. I have around 500hp and weights about 3200 lbs. Can't afford wilwood brakes. Looking for something around $350.00 any ideas please maybe better rotors, switching to disc in rear in a cheap way, looking for best bang for the buck I can get so I can raise rpms at line. Thxs

Sounds to me like you need a looser stall converter more than you need better brakes. That same $350 will get you close to a 3500 rpm stall converter that will significantly raise your brake rpm over what you have now.

If you were saying that you were having problems with getting stopped at the big end of the strip then I would pursue the brakes with a vengance, but sound to me like the converter is what you are looking for.
