looking for a 5 speed
hello i am looking for a 5 speed transmission to replace my 4 speed nothing is wrong with the 4 speed just like the 5 speed if anyone has a 5 speed that will work for a 1982 z28 camaro and wanting to sell or trade please get back to me email me at daytonaz@gmail.com thanks

What do you want the 5th gear to be? 1:1 or overdrive? If you're not looking for an OD trans, Richmond has a few 5-speeds to choose from. If you're looking for the 5th to be an overdrive gear, the Tremec line of transmissions would be worth a look. There are outfits easily found on the internet that have complete kits for a lot of different cars, including Mopar, GM and Ford.
Keisler Automotive in Tennessee has complete Tremec kits to mention one source. Steve

I'd like to tag on to this thread. My question is how much horsepower/torque can you put through a 5-speed? My daughter is really after me to drop a stick in the Nova project, but a friend said sticks don't take nearly as much power as autos. I know I can spend a bunch-O-bucks at Tremec, but would much prefer to hit my local Pick-N-Pull.
