looking for a 60 inch rear axle

I am looking for 60 inch rear axle possibly from a camaro or firebird, or there any other chevy axles in this general width? I will have aprox 400 crank hp on the motor. thanks

Why fool around with a tough to service diff. with minimal after market parts when you can get 9" Ford in so many widths and ratios from 2.?? to 7.?? (Of course this is only my biased opinion )

Dave is right,I have used 9''rear ends in almost all my cars,And never had a problem.If my coupe wouldn't have came with the 8.8,It would have a 9'' in it.

I found a Ford 9 inch from a 71 truck it is 61.25 inches. that should work. the pinion is offset on the 9 inch how do you compensate with the driveline?

All of mine had to be cut down,So I just centered all of mine.

An 8.5" unit from a '72-'79 Nova or clone measures right at 60" between the wheel flanges.
