looking for engine hoist and stand

I've got a couple craigslist adds for engine hoists in the Denver area and I'm looking for the best bang for the buck. I live 5 hours away so I'm going to buy something tomorrow. I've found 1 ton and 2 tons mostly. I guess it depends on how far out the hoist is extended. I'm going to be using it for a Ford 400M for starters. How much does the average engine weigh, is my question, I guess.

Get the 2 ton. If you are going to Denver stop by Pep Boys. The last hoist I purchased from them was on sale for 69.00 . 2 ton fold up, very well built.
